Tea Collection

My New Loose Tea Selection

Tea has always been a lifelong passion of mine. Tea really does start the day off right. As a child I always loved tea, I can remember as a young child I would drink tea in my bottle instead of milk.

I can remember that I would visit my grandparents who would always have tea in a china teacup with a saucer. I remember coming downstairs of a morning to find my grampa sat at the wooden fold down table, waiting for my gran to serve him his Weetabix and tea. I remember thinking back then, that this was odd, what was wrong with a mug? My grandad never drank out of a mug, he had his own teacup and saucer which he used religiously, the same one he had for years, it was off white and had hairline fractures in it. He told me, that tea drank out of a china teacup and sat on an elegant saucer, makes the tea taste so much better and he was right.

Throughout my teens I kind of forgot about tea and drank a-lot of coffee, as I travelled early every morning to Cardiff and would buy a skinny vanilla latte from Costa on St Marys Street. Again, tea would be a special occasion that I would arrange with my friends, ‘let’s go for tea’ or ‘let’s book an afternoon tea in Barker’s Tearoom’, a place I have always admired and loved in Cardiff’s High Street Arcade. Whether it was this, or that my grandmother gave me an extra heap of sugar in my tea that made me love tea so much!

From then on, I saw teatime as a special occasion, this was not an everyday ritual, but something that happened occasionally, and something that I really enjoyed.

When I first decided that I would like to build a brand, having my own blend of tea was one of the things that I really wanted to do. Recalling all the happy moments and memories I had enjoyed because of tea, I wanted to be able to help other people experience the very same, all because of something so simple but lovely.

I’m so excited to have achieved this so soon, with my two new blends of loose-leaf tea. These are my favourite blends that I typically drink throughout the day, taking a little moment for myself at various points so that I can relax and recharge.

Breakfast Tea

‘Teatime is a chance to slow down, pull back and appreciate our surroundings ‘, a quote I have used to appreciate my blends of tea.

Firstly, a breakfast tea was always going to be the first blend that I would experiment. I found a tea company that would let me choose blends of teas and combine them to create the perfect robust blend. My tea is a robust blend of Kenya, India, and Sri Lanka. This luxury black tea is the perfect start to every morning.

My second blend of tea is an Earl Grey Tea. This earl grey tea has so many robust flavours and a range of beautiful cornflowers that have a wonderful floral and pungent flavour.

I had friends and family to try and taste different flavours and I am very pleased with the results. This is a luxury black tea with blue cornflowers, alongside a floral bouquet of Ceylon tea combined with a smooth Keemun and natural bergamot oil flavour. A blend of Sri Lanka and China, goes wonderful with a squeeze of lemon.

Tea is the go-to morning drink that us Brits go for. The British drink more than 60 billion cups of tea a year! Tea is a now the biggest and fastest growing trend to date.
