Autumn is upon us
Everyone is getting back into school term mode again, we have hit September and autumn has truly began to take its hold on our gardens and parkland areas. Autumn is often a time of outstanding beauty. We’re treated to a final burst of colour before the onset of winter. The flaming colours of reds, orange, golds and greens will entwine and create a tapestry of beauty across our country.
Autumn is one of my favourite seasons, it shows us how beautiful it is to let things go. This week has been quite a busy one, getting back into some routine and having a end of summer clean through. While unfolding the packaging and putting up some autumn decorations to get us into the seasonal mood. I do love how the autumn colours can blend into most homes, all those bright vibrant colours showing us how nature is letting go, taking a step back and letting autumn/winter make its way into our gardens and homes.
October will be the month where most of us will go and collect or go pumpkin picking. Picking pumpkins from a fresh pumpkin patch is an amazing experience. Last year my partner and I, took our nieces and nephew to the one in Cowbridge, off the A48. We had a whale of time, carrying a large wheelbarrow, ploughing though the fields scanning for the most vibrant and colourful pumpkins. This will be an experience we will be repeating come late October.

Last year we moved into our new home and I wanted to get some pumpkins and indoor decorations for this colourful season. My partner managed to find me a beautiful wicker pumpkin from Waitrose, it was a design I had been searching for. It is beautifully designed, with some led lights dotted throughout. This was a great buy!

This year I was debating and going back and forth to the Range, debating whether to buy it, but I bit the bullet and brought this beautiful autumn garland from the Range. They have only had a small range in this year at present but I did not want to miss out on the opportunity. It fits perfectly into my autumn décor and I don’t think I have finished yet…. Homesense also have some beautiful buys and their pumpkin spiced candles are heavenly. I might even pop back in one day after work and get some more, there is nothing better than a candle glowing and crackling in the background.

Looking outside now, the weather in the last few days has made a drastic change, the days have got cooler and the wind has picked up. Time to dig out those jumpers, scarves and dust off my walking boots. Autumn is the season that teaches us that change can be beautiful. Another autumn, another chapter in the book.
There is nothing better than a long autumn walk, wind blowing those cobwebs away, while enjoying a pumpkin spiced latte. I still got a bottle of spiced syrup here from last year, it will soon be used to make some warming spiced lattes, cwtched up watching some old time classics by candle light.
